Chakra One – Root Chakra

“Muladhara” The Grounding-Stability Chakra

The root chakra is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability: basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and safety, as well as your emotional needs such trust and faith (letting go of fear). To feel grounded and safe, these basic needs must be met.

If you suffer from worry and fear, this is a chakra to give some attention to.

The sense organ that corresponds to the first chakra is smell. Try diffusing an essential oil such as cypress, juniper berry, and vetiver. For some uplift, add something citrus.

While meditating, focus on the tip of your nose.

Affirmation:

“I am held in
safety and protection.”

The element for this chakra is earth. To strengthen this chakra, engage in earth-related and grounding activities: gardening, cooking with fresh vegetables, hiking or walking in nature.
